Encompassed brightly in nature
Many scenes rich with flavour
Can be described by this magnificent word
Perhaps the flurry of wings from a beautiful bird
Strawberries large so ripe rich and mature
It’s fruit tantalizingly succulent and pure
Often used to depict great beauty
Such as a newborn babe in infancy
Or the lusciousness of kissable lips
The beauty of once magnificent ships
The fragrance after a downpour of rain
Freshening the air our joy to sustain
An all encompassing word that captures
Sumptuous abundant elaborate exposure
We have only to open our eyes
To all that is seen and all it implies
I’ve been in love with gardens forever, often captivated by the beauty found within. My hitherto balcony didn’t allow for such an indulgence, able to grow a few potted plants that brought a modicum of delight was all I could manage. One day, about a year ago, I joined two gardening groups available on line. They accepted me and my resultant delight and pleasure indescribable.
The generosity of all involved touching, amazing, unequivocal. Their love of earth, gardens and flowers unending. Even more astounding than the gardens themselves, was the photographic ability of many. Daily I witness generosity of spirit as they willingly share the beauty they have created and which surrounds them. Through photographs I witness the changes and growth from groundbreaking to completion humbly sharing in their accomplishment.
Many years ago, I gazed upon a picture of a rose completely enchanted. I stood before this wonder and stared. A picture I had taken myself in my desire to capture it’s lush beauty, it’s essence. The rose was so richly velvet, it’s colour so vibrant it didn’t seem real or possible. Had the picture been enhanced somehow? No, my eyes witnessed it’s birth and development, it’s growth from bud to blossom.
We witness many incredible moments in the passage of time, committing them to memory. This is but one of many I personally enjoyed.
An amazing word that encompasses so many variables. It can be a person who lives for drama and wears you out or can relate to a dramatic event in our life that suddenly becomes heightened.
What is more delightful than a dramatic sunrise, or sunset or perhaps waves crashing on the shore in a dramatic storm. What of an amazing mountain range that compels your eye to dramatic snow covered peaks.
Dramatic lighting in a photograph (whether it relates to an object, scene, or person) can instantly change your perception of any of the above.
Dramatic art, theater, music, plays, songs, novels, or words; whatever the relationship, dramatics captures our immediate attention thereby invoking an instant response. Dramatics affects our thoughts, emotions, or beliefs impacting us either negatively or positively.
However it affects our emotions, it can make an obvious and appreciable even significant and perceptible difference in meaningful ways and enrich our lives.
